Eoghan O’Brien
Bannside Pharmacy

Eoghan took over Bannside Pharmacy from his late father Colm in the small, picturesque town of Portglenone in 1993. He is a casual lecturer on the MPharm course at Ulster University & Ulster Chemist Association Pharmacy Pre-registration training programme on Enhanced Services, Complementary Medicine and Health & Wellbeing. Eoghan is the Elected Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) Pharmacist for Antrim/Ballymena since 2013. ICPs, are playing a key role in how health and social care services in Northern Ireland are being transformed and are helping to change the way care is delivered.

Eoghan is also winner of Pharmacy Busines of the Year 2019.

Fin McCaul
Managing Director
Prestwich Pharmacy

Fin graduated from the Liverpool School of Pharmacy in 1986. He is Managing Director of Prestwich Pharmacy in Manchester.

Fin was a past founder and Chairman of the Independent Pharmacy Federation and now works alongside the NPA board where his role continues to promote the benefits of independent pharmacy whilst supporting their members.

Fin has worked with a variety of public health groups and is currently the Long Term Conditions Lead for Bury CCG, working with GP’s, other primary care providers and secondary care providers. Fin also speaks and delivers training at local and national events on smoking cessation, weight loss, professional development and change management. He has recently been elected to the PSNC board. Fin was awarded fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2016 for his service to Pharmacy.

Hemant Patel
Secretary
North-East London LPC

Four-time former president of the RPSGB, Hemant has been, and remains, an influential voice in community pharmacy. 

Currently secretary of north-east London Local Pharmaceutical Committee, he is championing the pharmacy self-care programme which has proven a great success in helping to place patients, assisted by pharmacy teams, at the heart of their own care. 

Hemant possesses a deep understanding of pharmacy practice, education, regulation and politics and has led many innovative projects in medicines management, public health and retailing.

He also served as chairman of NPA, vice-chairman of PSNC and a consultant to a number of pharmaceutical companies.

Mark Lyonette
Chief Executive
National Pharmacy Association

Mark Lyonette joined the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) as Chief Executive in June 2018.

He has extensive experience of running trade associations, membership bodies and leading a complex, regulated sector through change.

Mark was previously the CEO of the Association of British Credit Unions, overseeing a period of growth in that sector which now serves nearly two million people across the UK.

He says his task now is “to continually build up the effectiveness of the NPA and so help transform for the better the prospects of the independent pharmacy sector”.

Priyankur Mandav

Priyankur Mandav is Editor of Pharmacy Business. He comes from a broadcast media background with several years on the international news desks at the BBC and Associated Press. He is excited about the future of pharmacy in the rapidly evolving medical landscape, and hopes that his foray into the sector will be fulfilling, fascinating and fun.

He comes from a literary background but his journalistic DNA leads him to find healthcare and technology fascinating. He loves his new job because it requires him to develop a broad understanding of important issues, conduct detailed research and turn facts into interesting, meaningful content. 

Outside the pharmacy world, Priyankur's interests are cricket and Bollywood in any order.

Richard Brown is a qualified pharmacist with a PhD in medicinal chemistry. He has 15 years' experience in pharmacy, including managing up to 38 pharmacies, clinical governance, contract tendering and delivery. He also has expertise in pharmacy automation,centralised hub and spoke dispensing and supporting pharmacies preparing for their GPhC inspection audit.

Richard founded BRR Consulting in 2012. The mission of BRR Consulting is to support pharmacies in delivering high quality, efficient pharmacy services to enable patients and the public to experience the best possible clinical care from their pharmacy.

Richard also holds the post of Chief Officer of Avon Local Pharmaceutical Committee where he works with the committee to support the delivery of high quality community pharmacy services across Avon.

Shailesh Solanki

Shailesh Solanki graduated with a BSc Hons in Economics from University College, London. He is Executive Editor of the Asian Media Group, looking after the editorial function across the group’s titles: Asian Trader, Garavi Gujarat Newsweekly (UK and US editions), Eastern Eye, Pharmacy Business and Asian Hospitality.

Shailesh is also responsible for the group’s events division and US business which is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
