Reena Barai
Pharmacy Contractor and NPA board member

Reena Barai qualified from London School Of Pharmacy in 1998. She spent the early part of her career as a Hospital Pharmacist. She took over running her family business, S G Barai Pharmacy in 2003. Whilst running the Pharmacy she has also enjoyed a portfolio career. Between 2004 and 2006 she worked part time for Sutton & Merton Primary Care Trust as a GP Practice Support Pharmacist. She then went on to work as local CPPE tutor between 2012 and 2015. Since 2014 she has been one of the Community Pharmacy Leads at Sutton CCG. Reena has a diploma in Clinical Pharmacy and is an Independent Prescriber. Currently she is an NPA board member, a PSNC committee member, a PCN Community Pharmacy Lead and Deputy Chair of RPS South London.

Andrew Chilton
Director Velresco Group

Following 19 years in the Chemicals Industry where he qualified as an Industrial Chemist and gained an MBA on Ciba’s Executive Development programme, he has spent 18 years, as a Business Consultant, helping organisations successfully improve performance.

Velresco work extensively in Community Pharmacy, enabled by their unique software; v-Flow® to safely free up Pharmacists’ time for services development and delivery.

Ashley Cowen
Sales & Operations Director
AAH Pharmaceuticals

Ashley joined McKesson UK in February 2018 initially as Fulfilment Director before becoming the Sales and Operations Director. Ashley oversees third-party and speciality sales as well as operations for AAH Pharmaceuticals.

Ashley was previously the Operations General Manager for Amazon where he was responsible for opening the first fully robotic distribution centre within the EU. He graduated from Manchester University with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and subsequently completed an MBA from Lancaster University.

Simon Dukes
Chief Executive, PSNC

Simon joined PSNC in May 2018. As CEO he is the principal advisor to the PSNC committee, and is responsible and accountable for all operational dimensions of the organisation. These include the planning and shaping of NHS services provided by the network of community pharmacies in England, as well as negotiating funding from HM Government.

With over two decades working in the UK public sector, Simon has experience in a number of roles and specialisms including defence and security policy, public affairs, media and communications strategy, negotiation, and cyber security.

In 2013 he left HM Government to become the CEO of the UK’s Fraud Prevention Service, Cifas when he was also on the Oversight Board of the Home Secretary’s Joint Fraud Task Force, and the Management Board of the Joint Money Laundering Intelligence Task Force.

Deborah Evans
Managing Director, Pharmacy Complete

Deborah Evans is a pharmacist and managing director of Pharmacy Complete. In over 30 years as a pharmacist, she has held various management roles within community pharmacy and operated as a senior leader within the pharmaceutical industry – liaising closely with primary care and hospital pharmacy sectors as well as with local and national commissioners of health. Deborah is a former member of the English Pharmacy Board, an RPS Fellow, a Faculty Fellow and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health.

Sanjay Ganvir
Superintendent Pharmacist, Green Light Pharmacy

Sanjay is the professional Services Director at Green Light Pharmacy. Green Light is a group of 13 independent community pharmacies in London that have developed innovative clinical services, both NHS commissioned & private. This has now expanded to practice pharmacists, educational and community services. Green Light has developed an employee ownership model that has driven its innovative culture.

Mike Hewitson
Pharmacy Contractor

Mike Hewitson is an independent pharmacy contractor with 2 pharmacies in Dorset. Mike was a member of the National Pharmacy Association Board for 8 years, including 3 as one its representatives to PSNC. Since leaving pharmacy leadership in 2018, he was elected as a District Councillor and has been appointed as Non-Executive Director of HubRx.

Michael Holden
Associate Director, Pharmacy Complete & Pharmacy Business Conference Chair

Following a number of years working in corporate pharmacy in various practice and management positions to a senior level, Michael established his own community pharmacy group in 1988.

In 2005 Michael became the Chief Officer of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Pharmaceutical Committee where many innovations in pharmacy services began including the Health Living Pharmacy initiative. He was appointed as the Chief Executive of the National Pharmacy Association in 2011.

In 2015 he established MH Associates consultancy and in 2016 co-founded Pharmacy Complete, a training and consultancy organisation working with community pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry, and health and public health organisations.

Michael has a significant understanding of policy, legislation and regulation relating to pharmacy, healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry in addition to experience of working with colleagues across the world. Michael is an active advocate of an expanded role for the profession in health and wellbeing and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.

Michael was honoured as a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in March 2011 and became a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health in 2017.

Aneet Kapoor
Pharmacy Contractor and Chair of Greater Manchester LPC

Aneet is a community pharmacist by background and has been an Independent contractor in Greater Manchester for the last 15 years. Aneet has been involved in many different leadership roles, most prominently led LPCs and their work in Greater Manchester for ten years, most notably leading the merger of six of the seven LPCs in GM in 2016 as well as setting up the Greater Manchester Pharmacy provider company ‘CHL’ whose articles have formed the blueprint of an all-inclusive provider for community pharmacies. Aneet has led Community pharmacy through two white papers and devolution and is as committed to leading community pharmacy into and beyond the new 5 year community pharmacy contract framework.

Service development and developing the role of the community pharmacist are his passion; Aneet himself is an Independent prescriber and works tirelessly to maximise the skills of community pharmacists in primary care.

Sunil Kochhar
Consultant Pharmacist & Owner, Regent Pharmacy

Sunil K. Kochhar has over 20 years’ hands-on experience of helping local communities improve their health and wellbeing through educational events, screening services and innovative methods, resulting in great health and wellbeing outcomes. His current work and activity aims to showcase how independent prescribers within a community pharmacy setting plays a key role for the health of all local communities in England. By using tools such as virtual consultations, combined with the USP of community pharmacy. He has formed a Community Pharmacy Prescriber Academy to highlight how independent prescribers within a community pharmacy setting can improve patient care and health outcomes, in collaboration with other healthcare sectors.

Mark Lyonette
Chief Executive, National Pharmacy Association

Mark Lyonette joined the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) as Chief Executive in June 2018. He has over thirty years’ experience of running trade associations and membership bodies. Mark joined the NPA from the Association of British Credit Unions, overseeing a period of significant growth in that sector which now serves over two million people across the UK. Since joining the NPA Mark has focused on driving value for members in the NPA.

Julian Mount

Julian has held the position of Managing Director, Alliance Healthcare UK since April 2017 leading a team of more than 5,500 employees across 11 business units, distributing pharmaceuticals and services to community pharmacies, Hospitals and homes across the UK.

A seasoned healthcare industry executive with over 30 years’ experience gained both domestically and internationally in businesses in roles such as European Vice President Pfizer Inc and International Vice President at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Julian is responsible for the leadership, strategy and performance of all Alliance Healthcare UK businesses.

Shailesh Solanki
Executive Editor, Pharmacy Business

Shailesh Solanki graduated with a BSc Hons in Economics from University College, London. He is Executive Editor of the Asian Media Group, looking after the editorial function across the group’s titles: Asian Trader, Garavi Gujarat Newsweekly (UK and US editions), Eastern Eye, Pharmacy Business and Asian Hospitality. Shailesh is also responsible for the group’s events division and US business which is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
